The 2008 CINOA Prize has been awarded to Jean-Pierre Bénézit for his family's contribution to the Dictionary since its creation in 1910. CINOA is the Confédération Internationale des Négociants en Œuvres d'Art. Established in 1935, it is the only non-profit international federation of associations for antique and art dealers that represents a wide array of specialities. CINOA's members are 30 art and antique associations from 21 countries representing more than 5,000 dealers worldwide.
Established in 1976, the annual CINOA prize is awarded in recognition of an academic publication or
an outstanding contribution to furthering the cultural preservation of art works in a CINOA member
country.

On 1 June 2007, Antoine Gründ was invited to the Metropolitan Museum
of Art to give a presentation on Benezit Dictionary of Artists to the members
of New York Metropolitan Chapter of the Art Libraries Society of North America
(Arlis/NY). The event was organised by Ken Soehner, Chief Librarian, and
Christine Kuan, Senior Editor of Grove Dictionary of Art. Click here to
